I updated in a previous post what COULD be a slightly modified schedule for the 2nd game of the Glass Bowl blowout. With the Fire in place of the Gladiators, the game between Cols. (Fire) and Flint scheduled July 24 would just take place July 31. Thus, they would have byes the prev. week to open the league schedule, along with the Indy Mustangs, Wisc. Wolfpack.

I was just looking at that.  I had planned to pitch it to Flint and Columbus to see if they would like to do that.

That's the easiest solution, and leaving the league schedule as is minus the games the Gladiators abandoned would mean just an extra bye for each team. Thus, schedules wouldn't have to be reprinted for the public. We had this happen to us in 1995 when a team left the league at the last minute. We simply filled in the game with a non-league opponent and left everything else as is.

Hate to see it happen, but regardless of what league you are in, it happens...
Heck we had to do it this year already as well....lucky to get a non-league game when leagues are into their season...
We were lucky to get with Anthony McCormick of the GMFL and he had teams that were able to come to us (since it was a home game)...Maybe some of the MCFL teams can contact the GMFL...some teams might be availabe and since they have teams in Michigan and Ohio, you might be able to get a team to commit.

GMFL has teams in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. There are not teams in Ohio; Ohio River Bearcats are in Evansville, IN. Looking at their schedule though it does not appear to have any vacancies?

The GMFL also has a team in Arkansas and one in Wisconsin. Talk about travel.

I updated the schedule on the first page for the 4 game MCFL blowout at the U. of Toledo Class Bowl on July 31. No Cols. Fire. One non-league opp., the rest are league games.
